Hero Spotlight: Charlie Sheen

Bear with me on this one.

Charlie Sheen has recently ripped a page out of Lindsay Lohan's "How To Ruin A Career" handbook and fast tracked himself into tabloid drama of epic proportions. I don't need to get into the highly quotable rants of a drug addled, hooker obsessed crack head. Despite his claim that he is "winning", I don't think I need to say that he is far from it. However, in the midst of all this very public insanity, Charlie has made one strong point that has actually made sense.

When he called out Chuck Lorre, using the Jewish version of his name, Chaim Levine, the Anti-Defamation League accused him of being a borderline Anti-Semite. Never mind that Chaim means Charles and Levine is Chuck Lorre's real last name. Never mind that Sheen didn't say anything nasty about Jewish people. He merely expressed his hatred for Lorre, and used his "true name" in the process because when one has tiger blood, they can wield the magic behind the use of a "true name" to....oh, never mind, he's still batshit.

Sheen's response to this accusation leveled at him by an organization that makes attention grabs by seeking offense where there is none to be found pretty much sums up how ridiculous this accusation really is.

"So you're telling me, anytime someone calls me Carlos Estevez, I can claim they are anti-Latino?"

This response is winning. I don't think I need to say more, because it really speaks for itself, as well as the ridiculously touchy society we live in. For this, Charlie Sheen can win all he wants in the glow of the hero spotlight.
